Murton Cottage is a Grade II listed property encircled by landscaped gardens and open countryside in a picturesque hamlet in South Warwickshire, on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The new oak framed garden room with lead covered flat roof replaces an existing under-used conservatory, opening up from the kitchen to allow access to and views across the garden. Painted timber doors and windows flood the space and Kitchen beyond with natural light.
An existing garage and dilapidated store were demolished to allow for the construction of a new double garage and garden store with ancillary accommodation at first floor over. Faced in natural walling stone under a slate tiled roof, the building sits comfortably within the site. The gable has bespoke glazing within an oak frame to give unimpeded views across the adjacent paddock and beyond.
The new additions are linked by a series of new paths and terraces, bounded by low stone walls and planter beds to give a unified composition and enhance the setting of this attractive residence.
