Martin Smart RIBA

Martin graduated in 1983 from Nottingham University where he has continued his association as an external tutor.

A keen sportsman, Martin currently plays in the Warwickshire Squash Leagues as well as going mountain biking on a regular basis. When possible he also cycles to the new office.

2011’s award-winning documentary film Senna has brought memories flooding back for Martin, as he is also a former karting champion. The opening and closing sequences feature footage from the 1980 World Karting Championships in Nivelles, Belgium, where Martin competed alongside the young Brazilian driver.

Martin represented Great Britain from 1974-1980 and his successes include winning the British Junior Championships, winning the European Team Championships and finishing third in the World Championships.
