Glencoe Cottage is a listed property on a site of medieval archaeological importance, within a Warwickshire conservation area. The house also sits under the canopy of a large protected Beech tree.

Our brief was to replace the existing lean-to kitchen structure with a new kitchen and breakfast area that would open up and engage with the cottage garden.

The new lightweight timber-framed structure sits in contrast with the existing historic fabric but with a pallet of traditional materials brought together in a rigorously controlled detail language. A large sliding door allows the building to fully open up to the new landscaping and timber-framed garden office structure beyond.
