The new platform lift at Dormy House Hotel provides inclusive access from the entrance level of the hotel down to the function suites.

The freestanding lift structure is positioned against a spine wall, which has a textured render finish. Supported on an Oak post and beam structure the lead covered flat roof seemingly floats over the top of the lift, cantilevering out to provide shelter from the elements.

Careful control of the palette of materials and detailing has resulted in a simple structure that sits comfortably adjacent to the existing buildings and one of the primary entrance routes into the hotel.
